try as I might, I can't seem to get my act together to have a post ready for Monday morning. it seems like lately there has been something going on every Sunday, and as soon as nighttime rolls around, I can't see beyond simply collapsing into bed. this past Sunday evening we had a house full of company, not that I'm complaining. if I had to choose between visiting with friends or typing up a blog post... well, that's a no-brainer. hands down, friends win. every.single.time. and it was a very enjoyable evening indeed-- I loved every minute of it (hint, hint. we love company.)
okay, so. Hannah and Jake return home exactly one week from today. out of curiosity, I interviewed the rest of the kids a few days ago to find out whether or not they've missed them, and if they're anxious for them to come home.
here's what they had to say:
Chloe: "not really. it's a lot easier to babysit when they're not here because Hannah usually bosses us around and Jake always teases everyone." then she paused for a moment before adding, "well, maybe I kind of miss them." (I think she's enjoyed being "queen bee.")
Myra: "NO!" (said quite emphatically) "well, hee hee, actually I miss Hannah. but only a little."
Sawyer (shrugs shoulders): "ummm, I don't know. kind of. but I don't miss Jake's nasty farts." like, who would?
Ella: smiles shyly and nods head "yes."
Phoebe (laughing): "I don't know. I guess, yeah."
Rowan (grinning from ear to ear): "no. can I jump on the tramp?" (something tells me he doesn't quite get it.)
Scarlett: giggles. (although since Hannah's been away, she has taken to liking me again :-)
out of the mouths of babes, there you have it.
and now for the million dollar question: do Hannah and Jake miss their siblings?
I wonder.
