cheap motel.

so, we're on our way to San Diego, tootling along through this small town like, toot-a-loo this is so fun how many more miles are we there yet? when all of the sudden Gary cranks the wheel of the van and pulls into the parking lot of this abandoned motel.  before I could say anything, he blurts out, "well kids, we're heeeeere!  looks like we have the place all to ourselves, too.  gee, fancy that!"

judging by the amount of eye-rolling going on, it was obvious the kids didn't appreciate his humor.  I, on the other hand, nearly died laughing.
