HERE!

you can cancel that missing persons report you were about to file because I'm HERE!  not missing, like I'm sure you were all hoping thinking.

I mean you were concerned about me, right?

um yeah, so.  ahem.

(awkwardly changing subject)

as it always does at this time of the year, Phoenix did indeed deliver.  and by that I mean I got to enjoy temps hovering around the 75 degree mark.  I know, real bummer.  as an added bonus, I was able to meet up with a few friends on Friday evening and relish in some much needed mom-versation, where I'm pretty sure we discussed everything from soup to nuts.  and then some.  I had told myself I was going to leave by 10, because I wanted to get to my aunt's place at a reasonable hour so she wouldn't chew me out just kidding, but we were too busy discussing nuts, or was it soup? and suddenly it was 11:30.  time flies when you're having fun!  I need to get out more often.

as mentioned in my previous post, I did bring my camera in to get cleaned and repaired.  I may or may not have choked out a sob as I handed it over to the guy, begging him to "p-p-please take good care of my baby it."  sniff.  worst case scenario: it could take up to two weeks before it's fixed and back in my possession.  TWO WEEKS!  hold me.

coincidentally, IKEA happens to be just down the road from the camera place, and well, I couldn't resist swinging over there for a bit.  seriously, it wasn't like it was my fault. it kept taunting me, pulling at me with its fleshy fingers until SNAP!  just like that I found myself suddenly devouring a plateful of Swedish meatballs dipped in lingonberry sauce, contemplating whether or not I dared buy a mirror.  a very large mirror in fact.  (excuse the poor quality phone images.)

I forgot to mention that not only is the mirror large, it's orange.  yeah.  fortunately, Gary didn't even bat an eye at this bold statement piece.  instead he said, rather nonchalantly, "wow.  an eleven-foot orange mirror.  can't wait to see what you do with it."  I tell you, the guy has no pulse.  I mean, nothing phases him.

so now I can't decide if I should hang it horizontally above the sofa table in place of the black shelf and those pictures:

or?  if I should hang it vertically on the wall in my bedroom.  we don't have a full length mirror in this house, so in order to view my entire outfit, you know, to make sure I match and everything, I have to stand teetering on the edge of the tub in our bathroom, while peering in the vanity mirror.  this can be a bit challenging, especially in heels, and I'm afraid one of these days I'm going to slip and crack my head open on the bathtub faucet.  URRGH.

thoughts?

PS. Gary and I are off to look at a house this afternoon.  get this, it's located on a cul-de-sac overlooking the 6th Tee of the Continental Country Club golf course.  wheeee!

I can't believe you have lived this long without a full length mirror! If it were me I'd put it where it works full length! because i couldn't live without mine;) ~natalie m

Looks like you picked up a throw and a pillow also !! Cute ! I'd hate to hide the super cute mirror in a bedroom where no one could see it ! D & J are interested in the table. Fun having you stay - come again!

After this many years of living with you, I'm sure Gary is very much used to what you bring home. :) I mean that in a good way. You'll have to find some other ways to shock him, like buying a basic black mirror....
