we pretty much have things wrapped up around here.
santa's elves were busy last night with last minute preparations. (Scarlett, quit peeking!)
what's done is done, and what isn't, no one's going to notice. and really, who cares? the point of the holidays isn't perfection. in the end, meals get eaten, presents are grown out of. it's the memories that linger... the laughs we share, the traditions we celebrate, and just being together with friends and family are what make up the best "gifts." and most importantly, it's a time to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and the greatest gift of all; the birth of Jesus.
so now, it's time to kick back, relax and enjoy. for the first time ever, it's just "us" on Christmas Eve. no grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts or uncles. but I'm okay with that. I think it's time we start our own traditions, make our own memories and share our own stories and laughs. Christmas is about spending time with loved ones, and who better to spend it with than my husband and our own little cherubs?
so there you have it. nothing like a little family time. and actually, I'm really looking forward to it!
wishing everyone a wonderful and peaceful Christmas!
