there's another little Kesti on the way!

I'm thinking it's high time I let the cat out of the bag! (I know, FINALLY, right? and besides, I can't really hide this burgeoning bump any longer :-)  anyway, we couldn't be more excited!!

I had the big 20-week ultrasound a couple weeks ago, and got to see this perfect little person, kicking and waving at me from inside their snuggly cocoon.  what a wonderful blessing it was to see a healthy, strong little baby on the ultrasound monitor!

so without further adieu, I would like you to meet the cause of all those middle-of-the-night potty runs:

in case you're like my husband and are totally inadept at deciphering ultrasound images, this would be a side view of the baby's head; aka, the profile- you can see the little button nose, mouth and chin, etc.  so tiny!  I showed this picture to Gary and after intently studying it for a good minute, he finally blurts out, "I can't tell what it is."  to describe my laughing fit as lasting forty-five minutes would underestimate it by at least an hour.  men.  they're so clueless except when it comes to the male anatomy.

it's been quite the emotional roller coaster, especially in the beginning when it was all I could do to heave myself up and off the couch, let alone try to keep this household in check.  I was nauseated, extremely tired, freezing, hormonal, irritable, ugh.  definitely no party.  but, I'm happy to say that I feel on top of the world now.  I'll let you know in a couple months if I'm still singing the same tune.  heh.

I'm pretty sure I heard a few of you gasping earlier-- oh my goodness, TEN kids?  and so, I have a little story to share.

I had just delivered Sawyer, number five, and was gazing affectionately at him as he lay on my chest, already alert and rooting around.  the nurse, busy with clean-up and whatnot, stops what she's doing and looks intently at me.  "so tell me," she suddenly demands.  "how can you possibly be as excited after baby number five, as you were after your first?  and furthermore, how can you give so many kids the proper amount of love and attention they need?"

at first I was a little taken aback.  like who is she to be so nosy, asking such personal questions?  I seriously considered giving this so-called "compassionate" nurse a piece of my mind.  but I was far more mature than that.

so instead, I simply answered by saying, "I can assure you that not only will he be dearly loved by my husband and I, but also by his four siblings, who cannot wait to hold him and shower him with love and affection.  in fact after his first day home, he'll probably be begging for a quick breather from all those hugs and kisses."

with number ten on the way, it won't be much different.

except only now there will be ten times the love :-)

I also found out the sex of this little Kesti!  if you'd like to know what it is, watch this video.  warning: be prepared for a healthy dose of Minnes-oh-ta accent.  you betcha!  do I really sound like that?

once again, we are thankful for this wonderful opportunity to welcome another child into our lives.  God has richly blessed us, and we pray that He'll continue to watch over us as we wait for this new little bundle, due to arrive the end of September.

PS. ummm, what should I do about the title of my blog?  LOL.

So much for the 5 year boy plan, huh? ;)

I do agree with the more babies you have, the more love they get. Louise is the cat's meow and knows it. :)
