so long.

farewell.  auf wiedersehen.  good-bye.

and so, the highly anticipated, much talked about day has FINALLY arrived.  Hannah and Jake are off to Minnesota, where they'll be hanging out with grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles, and cousins and friends galore for five weeks.  FIVE!  that's like a month plus one week!  WAAA!  needless to say, they were extremely excited and all smiles this morning as they headed out the door.

and while it's hard for me to see them go, on the same hand, I can't help but think what an awesome opportunity this is for them, to be able to reconnect and spend some quality time with family and friends.  what great, wonderful memories they'll have!  definitely a trip they'll remember for years to come.

are you sure you're ready for these two up there? ;-)

well, have fun and be good you two!  we'll miss your smiling faces!  remember, if you ever feel lonesome you can always check the blog for daily happenings around here, not that you'll miss scrubbing toilets or that pesky eight year-old brother of yours or anything.  oh and few last things.  remember to say "please" and "thank you," don't forget to wash behind your ears, and for pete's sake, call or text your mother once in a while, okay?

can't wait to hear all about your summer adventures!

love, mom.

PS. if you hear any muffled cries coming from your suitcase, don't be alarmed, it's just Rowan.  I figured grandma would love to spend some quality time with him, as well. no?

I went through security and picked up the above 2 grandkids at the gate. We crawled through rush hour traffic and got to Monticello just befor 7PM. Within the half hour Jake was at the high school playing ball. Hannah met up with Jennah. By 10PM 5 cousins were staying the night here at G&G Kesti's house. Today, the boy cousins are at Tim & Debbie's while Nicole and Hannah are closeted in the bedroom catching up on the 'news', while Grandpa keeps an eye on the western sky as we are under a tornado 'watch' until 9PM. Welcome to MN, kids!
